Petit Jean State Park

Tuesday Dec. 15, 2015

Traveled to Petit Jean State Park and enjoyed the beauty of the area. Probably did about 3 1/2 miles of walking while there.

There are some nice views and a gorgeous waterfall.

Mt. Magazine

December 8, 2015

Took a trip up to Mt. Magazine which is the highest point in Arkansas. To see the beauty of God's creation amazes me and makes me realize how small I am yet He loves even me!!!

Looking NorthWest

You can actually stand on top of these cliffs.  No railings and me being afraid of heights and a windy day I was being very careful and not getting too close but close enough to get some good photos!!

View from the ledges

Looking Towards Clarksville (North)

Hang gliders can take off from the Southern Point.  Not something I would do!

List of records achieved on Mt. Magazine

Just to the right of the cabin, the brown grassy knoll is where they take off from.

To get to the highest point takes about a mile walk to the center of the mountain.  There is a road that circles the outer rim of the mountain thus giving the spectacular views, but the highest point is in the middle about 100 ft higher than the road & surrounded by trees.
Nice little walk

They have created a map of Arkansas out of stone with a line down the middle for the Arkansas River.  Mt Magazine is in the middle left hand corner. (a blue dot)

There is a Lodge on the South Side.

They even used to play croquet here!

Here is some of the views from the Lodge looking South.

Saturday Events

Saturday Dec. 5, 2015

Mr. & Mrs. Whitney, members of a Baptist Church in Oklahoma, visited us here at CBC for the weekend.

We had Men's prayer breakfast in the morning. Jeremiah Whitney gave the challenge.
Pastor Pennington, Jeremiah, & I spent the majority of the morning & afternoon door knocking. We talked to many people and did have one person receive Jesus as his Saviour.
We also met some others who knew they were saved, and could give a clear testimony of salvation. To meet and talk with them is a blessing even if they go somewhere else or not able to attend CBC due to physical issues.

In the evening, Pastor & Mrs. Pennington & I went down to Main Street and watched the Clarksville Christmas Parade. The theme was Polar Express with many participants.

Here's just a few of the many pictures I took.

Mt. Nebo

Tuesday I took an afternoon trip to
Mt. Nebo which is near Russellville, AR.

The drive up to the top is quite fun for a "Mainah" (Mainer for the rest of ya) who loves back roads. Sharp corners and uphill drive makes me love my Subaru even more.

The top has two overlooks.

Sunset Point looking West.

Panoramic view from Sunset Point

Sunrise Point looking East

Panoramic View from Sunrise Point.

Also, there was a spectacular waterfalls up there also.

And no I couldn't resist. Forgive me.
